Cannabis News: Plant Seizures Have Dropped Significantly
According to the Washington Post, “the number of live marijuana plants eradicated in outdoor and indoor grow operations has dropped in most states over the past three years, while the amount of bulk processed marijuana seized has doubled in that time.”
Nobody is exactly sure what has caused the significant drop in plant eradications. Some think that it may be because there’s less cannabis in general. ‘On a professional level, I like to believe that we’re pushing them out of the area,” said Washington state Patrol Lt. Mark Brogan.’Paul Armentano, deputy director of NORML, believes that the growers have simply shifted with the demand: “There seems to be greater preference for indoor grown versus outdoor grown. It could be simple market forces at work.”
